So it’s more of a Supergirl crossover into the Arrowverse, just like how the Supergirl crossover last season had nothing to do with what was happening in The Flash. Guggenheim also clarified the first part is The Flash, Arrow the middle, and Legends of Tomorrow the finale. However, the event keeps being referred to as a four-night, four-part crossover and that's not entirley accurate. To be fair, Executive Marc Guggenheim did warn fans that the ‘Invasion!’ event was really split into three parts, not four. Supergirl gets knocked out by Music Meister in National City. It’s also a safe bet the first few minutes of The Flash’s ‘Invasion!’ episode will recap what happened, but the following GIF is pretty much all the crossover there was. But there was no talk of The Dominators and Barry didn’t seem particularly stressed out. Cisco throws some shade toward Barry when he tells Kara they are friends. In fact, if you're not caught up with Supergirl, you’ll probably have no idea what’s going on in the episode anyway.īarry and Cisco show up in Kara’s apartment via breach and Barry asks her to return the favor she owes him from helping her last season. This means if you were afraid you’d miss some ‘Invasion!’ action, you'll be relieved to know that you didn't miss anything at all. Slabside clearly existed as a diversion before the season’s real plot could start, so it was hard to invest in anything that happened there. Instead of forcing Oliver to form new relationships or taking the time to create a fully fleshed-out world, Arrow isolated its protagonist in a monotonous limbo. The Flash and Vibe showed up for less than 30 seconds. For the most part, though, it felt like a missed opportunity.
But in terms of crossover, there was none. Supergirl Season 2 episode 8, “Medusa,” was a great episode – one of the best so far.
